Today we are visiting the cute little spa town called Bad Ischl im Salzkammergut in Austria, one of the most famous touristic regions in Austria.

We took a 20mins ride on the train from Hallstatt to sleep in Bad Ischl instead, but taking it from Linz takes a little longer than an hour and the scenery is absolutely breath-taking, passing along the Traunsee, the deepest lake in Austria.

We definitely recommend Bad Ischl for a day trip or even 1 or 2 nights, you can easily spend a couple of days exploring and relaxing, and even using the SPA resorts in town if budgeting is not a problem, since it is "Kaiser-level" pricing.

Bad Ischl is also the place of engagement and summer residence of Emperor Franz Josef lll and Empress Sissi.
