Here I am walking in Aachen, Germany, through the city center with its Christmas Markets on a November night in 2021. Our walk tour goes from the beautiful Elisenbrunnen to all the famous markets in the city. Enjoy spectacular Christmas lights during this walk, with many handmade goods & delicious foods to be spotted. The Christmas market in Aachen, originally called Aachener Printenmarkt, takes place at around Aachen Cathedral and Aachen City Hall. It is one of the oldest ones in Germany and is so popular that tourist from the surrounding towns and from the Netherlands come to Aachen to experience this event. Almost two hundred different market stalls offer candles, handicraft work, jewellery, decoration, delicacies and other potential Christmas presents. There are also many stands, which offer barbecue, chips, smoked salmon, spaetzle and many kinds of sweets. It attracts more than 1.5 million visitors to the city every year. Aachen developed from a Roman settlement and spa, subsequently becoming the preferred medieval Imperial residence of Emperor Charlemagne of the Frankish Empire, and, from 936 to 1531, the place where 31 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned Kings of the Germans. It is the westernmost city in Germany, located near the borders with Belgium and the Netherlands, 61 km west of Cologne. Enjoy this 4K HDR video walk recorded with binaural audio.
