For our 12th wedding anniversary we went on a 2 week road trip. Hallstatt Austria was on my bucket list since visiting Salzburg in 2019. We stayed at the Braugasthof which is a hotel and restaurant. It is an old, rustic hotel right off the main street and some of the rooms overlook the lake. (View Here: http://www.booking.com/Share-yjcLAd).
There's no parking in the town center. We parked in P1 and took the shuttle directly to our hotel. It was 15 euro to park for a day.
We walked around downtown and rented an electric boat for 30 minutes (which was plenty of time) to drive around the lake. There's a small park by the Protestant Church if kids need to run around. Overall, don't skip Hallstatt.
