Rapid COVID antigen test at Vienna Airport pre Austrian Airlines flight no OS171 to Hamburg Airport (Thurs 26th Nov). This is how to do it. Airlines and airports around the world should all be testing, trialling and learning how to re-start tourism, how to work and live with COVID and how to incorporate COVID screening into the airport check-in process.

Video transcript:
- Three days, three European airports in three different countries and three antigen tests. Vienna Airport, I'm about to take a COVID-free flight with Austrian Airlines to Hamburg. At the airport, as per usual, I go to one of the self check-in kiosks. Here's the first difference. Once I scan my passport and confirm my flight details, I'm told I'm traveling on a COVID-free flight, and I'm required to take a COVID test. All passengers and crew must take a rapid antigen test before flying. I receive my boarding pass, but cannot check in my bags or proceed to security until I have taken the test, get a negative result, and my boarding pass is validated with that negative result. I don't leave the terminal building. The testing takes place in the check-in area in the terminal. I complete a one-page test form, go to the check-in desk, hand over my passport and boarding pass, am given an antigen test kit, which is now linked by barcode to my boarding pass. I proceed to the next counter where I get tested, a throat swab. I see the crew being tested also in the same area. I then wait 10 to 15 minutes. I can choose to receive my results via text, or I can scan my boarding pass in the waiting area to confirm my results. Negative result, I'm now free to check in my bag, go through security and board. As my boarding pass is scanned at security and the gate, it confirms I have a negative result from the antigen test. The experience from start to finish could not have been easier. The signage, paperwork, and process was easy to understand and was well-integrated into the normal airport check-in and security process. It is great to see an airline and an airport working together to trial and better understand how we as an industry can restart flying.
