We wanted a relaxing escape so chose to travel to Hallstatt, Austria. It is a very touristic town with day trippers and bus tours, however we decided to spend 2 nights in a local hotel on the lake. We stayed at Lakeside Hotel, located right beside SeeCafe. The location was perfect. Close enough to walk to town and far enough away for that relaxing time we wanted. What a great time we had. We didn't do any of the usual touristic things and just relaxed, walked and enjoyed the scenery and each other. Not always do you need to be a 'tourist'. Spend time in an area as a local....slow down. Hallstatt is a beautiful getaway for just that, if you do it right. We truly loved our time there.
