Alps, Gorge, Castle all in a day - Germany Austria trip Day 2.
First stop - The Zugspitze, at 2,962 m above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the Austria–Germany border runs over its western summit. You can take the cable car or trek to the top.
Second stop - The Partnach Gorge, or Partnachklamm, is a "don't miss" attraction on any visit to the Bavarian alpine resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Final stop - Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century historicist palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. Walt Disney visited Neuschwanstein, and was inspired to create Disneyland's "Sleeping Beauty" castle.
