Our journey begins on the opposite shore from the famous Hallstatt. Obertraun often remains in the shadow of its popular neighbor, and that is exactly where its magic lies. Here you will find sprawling alpine meadows, transparent lake waters, and an incredible view of the Dachstein massif. This is a place where the mountains feel exceptionally close.

A stroll along the shore is therapy for the soul. You will see clouds clinging to the mountain peaks and hear nothing but the whisper of the water and the singing of birds. Obertraun is known for its outdoor activities, but in this video, we focus on its tranquility: from the blooming gardens by the houses to the mirror-like surface of the lake.
