This was day 1 of our 3 day Hut-2-Hut trip in Austria, it was so much fun and so beautiful! We park at Durlaßboden and hiked along the reservoir, through the Hohe Tauern National Forest, and made our way up the steep ascent to Zittauerhütte (2328 meters elevation). There we were greeted by great hosts that provided some of the best food we had on the trip, schnaps on the house, and some really cute dogs that lived at the hut. The dorm rooms where great (super clean) and showers were provided (3€ for a hot shower). We loved this place and highly recommend it! No joke, a little bit after we arrived a hail storm rolled through, so perfect timing! ????
