With a population of 9 million set in the heart of Europe the former powerhouse of The Republic of Austria is renowned for its high quality and standard of living. Bordered by 8 other European countries Austria's natural beauty of mountains, lakes and forests creates breathtaking vistas incorporating the Grossglockner with an elevation of 12,460 ft. (3,798 m.) and Europe's longest river, the mighty Danube.
Salzburg, is a beautiful European city, famous for it's architecture and magnificent setting along the River Salzach at the base of the Salzburg Alps. The area dominated by the 1,853-metre Untersberg spur straddling the border between Berchtesgaden, Germany and Salzburg. The Hohensalzburg Fortress, the largest medieval castle in Europe, towers over the stunning city of Salzburg the birth place of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and perhaps more famously the setting for The Sound of Music. Austria is the land of apple strudel, dancing marionettes and magnificent snow peaks and shadowed valleys.

Untersberg Cable Car, that takes you to the top of the mountain. The lift rises an impressive 1,320 m in elevation! You can see all the way out to the Salzkammergut lakes as well as Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria. Altstadt Salzburg (Old Town), Fortress Hohensalzburg, the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter, one of Salzburg's oldest and most attractive churches, St. Peter's Church, Salzburg Cathedral, (the location of Mozart's baptism), the Mirabell Palace and gardens, the Franciscan Church, the New Building (Neugebäude), St. Sebastian's Church, the Residenzplatz in the heart of the city, the convent of Nonnberg, The Marionette Theatre, and Getreidegasse, a picturesque street.
Salzburg is breathtaking.
