Berbicara mengenai negara Chili, mungkin banyak yang berpendapat bahwa ini adalah salah satu negara paling rawan gempa di dunia.
Chili jelas merupakan negara yang memiliki ukuran yang panjang. Membentang dari utara ke selatan yang berada di pesisir sempit dan panjang di tepi barat Andes Amerika Selatan dengan luas wilayah 756.950 km².
