We visited Bavaria to celebrate Lucia's 10th birthday! We stayed at the Chalet Annemarie in Hohenschwangau (highly reccommend!) in Neauschwanstein castle. This Palace inspired the castles in Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. We watched both movies during our stay of course.
Schwangau, Germany offers Neuaschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles as well as the Musuem of the Bavarian Kings. There are no photos allowed inside so you only get a glimpse of these in this video, but THEY ARE ALL STUNNING! It was very cool to tour these spectacular spots and learn about the history. Make sure to purchase your tickets when booking your trip to ensure you get to experience these!
Everything was within walking distance of our rental and there are tons of shops and restaurants in the area, too. On our last day, we enjoyed the best meal of our lives at Schloss Bräustüberl. Their pumpkin soup was to die for! We also drove into Füssen a couple times to shop and eat and I highly reccomend Beim Olivenbauer. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu and the atmosphere was top!
On the second night, we decided to drive into Austria to explore. We wound up discovering Ehrenberg Castle and the Highline 179 Suspension Bridge. Despite the pouring rain, we knew we had to explore this fantastical place! Kameron was the only one of us who made it all the way across the 1,322 ft bridge and back. It was raining so hard that it really elevated the suspense and drama at 374 ft up! We would definitely suggest adding these to your trip agenda. Reutte, Austria is only 20 minutes from Schwangau.
Overall, this was a trip to remember! Please enjoy this peek into our visit.
