I travelled across Austria to turn it into a hand-drawn illustrated map ????????✨

From Salzburg to Vienna and Innsbruck, this trip wasn’t just a holiday, it was research. I explored the streets, filmed the architecture, tasted the food (yes, including Mozart balls), met locals and gathered inspiration so I could capture the character of Austria properly.

When I create these maps, it’s not just about landmarks. I try to place everything roughly in its geographical area, weaving in culture, food, sport, history and little details that make each place feel alive. This piece took over 150 hours to research, design and paint and this video shows the journey from travel… to canvas.
