After approximately 2ft of snow fell on Thursday 2nd February, Friday 3rd was a clear day, clouding over in the afternoon before a further 3ft of snow fell between Friday evening and Saturday morning. Obergurgl & Hochgurgl were effectively cut off until the roads were cleared and numerous controlled avalanches were set off by around 12:00 noon Saturday 4th February.
