Germany is sending medical workers and equipment to Portugal after it asked for assistance to battle one of the world's worst coronavirus outbreaks.
Portugal's hospitals can barely cope with the number of COVID-19 admissions.
The Portuguese government has also closed its borders with neighbouring Spain and banned its citizens from travelling abroad.
