In this video Erika and myself travel to Hallstatt from Salzburg. There was a bit of uncertainty of how to get there as the ferry that would cross the lake was not operational. So we started early (7 am) with a day ticket and conflicting information from the information area at the train station.
It was a scenic bus ride passing some nice towns and snow caped mountains, around a 2 hour journey.
The town was very picturesque with traditional Austrian style building sunken inside a valley surrounded by mountains. It was fairly cold...about -3 when we got started and didn't warm up much throughout the day.
There was a hike to an old mining site which was unreachable because of the steepness of the frozen ground but we where able to make it partially up the way of the hike.
We both enjoyed visiting Hallstatt and it makes for a good day trip
