Vienna, the capital of Austria, is located east of the Danube. It owes its artistic and intellectual heritage to its inhabitants, including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also famous for its imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburgs.
Lower belvedere and baroque garden.

While the Upper Belvedere was used for the performance, the Lower Belvedere was the residence of Prince Eugene. The feudal magnificence of the master of the place is visible in the room of the grotesques, the marble gallery and the gilded cabinet. The Lower Belvedere and the Orangery host temporary exhibitions. The stables, which once housed the prince's steeds, now house medieval art.

The Belvédère gardens are a Mecca of Baroque landscaping. In front of the castle has been placed a "pond of reflection", in which is reflected the facade of the castle. Three large terraces and pools connect the Upper Belvedere to the Lower Belvedere. Originally, the private garden was reserved only for the master of the house and his friends. The Alpine Garden, in the castle park, is the oldest in Europe.
