Driving the scenic Zillertaler Höhenstraße (Zillertal High Road), a spectacular alpine mountain road located in Tyrol, western Austria. The Hohenstrasse connects multiple small villages scattered along the sunny western slopes of the Zillertal valley and offers extensive views of the Zillertaler Alpen (Zillertal Alps). Along the Zillertal High Alpine Road, alpine meadows dominate the landscape due to traditional mountain farming.
The road begins near Ried im Zillertal at an elevation of about 550 meters above sea level. From there, it climbs steeply to heights exceeding 2000 meters. With a total length of approximately 40 kilometers, the Zillertaler Hohenstrasse is among the longest high mountain roads in Austria.
