The Council of the EU has "extended economic sanctions targeting specific sections of the Russian economy":http://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2016/07/01-russia-sanctions/ in connection with the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.

They will now be in place until 31 January, 2017.
