One of the greatest study abroad programs in the world is centered in the quaint town of Gaming, Austria and run by Franciscan University of Steubenville. In the Spring of 2020, students of this program immersed themselves in the diverse cultures of Europe, traveling everywhere from the staple metropolitan centers of Europe to the untamed European wilderness. While the semester was unfortunately cut short due to the rise of COVID-19, the 175 students made the most of their time. They soaked up the adventure, history, food, culture, and beauty offered by Europe. This time of exploration was married with intensely formational courses in the liberal arts taught by challenging and friendly professors. The professors and staff welcome all of the students into the program, fostering a family- like community and atmosphere. St. John Paul II once said “Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure.” This faith filled study abroad program truly opens eyes and awakens souls to this wonderful adventure of life with Christ.
