Hallstatt (2022) is a small and famous town in Upper Austria. It is well known for its romantic location at the Hallstätter Lake and the Dachstein Massif in the district of Gmunden (region of Salzkammergut). The town was founded in the Iron Age between 800 to 450 BC (Porto-Celtic). The population is 800 and the main source of income is tourism.
