Since December 1997, the "Hallstatt - Dachstein / Salzkammergut" region has also been represented as Austria's contribution to the UNESCO World Heritage List . With its inclusion in the exclusive list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this unique area receives special, global recognition.
