What is purchasing power parity (PPP)? In this video Chandraprakash Joshi (EX AGM RBI) explains you the concept of PPP and discussed exam related questions for RBI Grade B 2020 and SEBI Grade A 2020.
PPP determines the relative values of different currencies. It makes converting measures of economic activities to be comparable across economies. PP adjusts for difference in Cost of living across economies of world.

PPPs and ICP data are used in indicators monitoring progress towards eight of the SDGs, the World Bank’s international poverty lines, and the construction of HDI.
Globally 176 economies participated in the 2017 cycle of ICP.
The next ICP comparison will be conducted for reference year 2021
