During the session, the potential derived from the use of blockchain and DLT technologies within the framework of Smart Cities will be analyzed, supporting the objectives of transparency and traceability of Smart Cities processes, as well as offering guarantees and confidence in transactions linked to the sharing and trading of public and private data (Data Sharing and Trading/Marketplace). We will explain how it is possible to integrate blockchain and DLT technology within FIWARE-based Smart Cities platforms. Likewise, the collaboration plans underway between FIWARE and blockchain/DLT initiatives at Spanish (Alastria) and European (EBSI - European BlockChain Service Infrastructure) level will be analyzed.
1. Application of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs, blockchain) in the field of Smart Cities and Territories and integration with FIWARE - Juanjo Hierro, CTO FIWARE Foundation
2. The Alastria network - Jesus Ruiz, Member of the Board and CTO at Alastria Blockchain Ecosystem
- Use Case 1: The use of Blockchain to certify environmental data for use cases as industries: the pilot of HOPU for Blockchers - Antonio Jara, CEO at HOPU
HOPU, a partner of Alastria association, is innovating in certification and transparency processes through the use of blockchain during continuous data monitoring. This process guarantees the composition of the emissions offered by its indicator visualization services from monitoring to visualization. The first customer who is making use of these transparency and certification benefits is Lisanplast, a plastics factory that seeks to ensure that its environment is suitable for pregnant and nursing women and to monitor the health of employees as one of its main Corporate Social Responsibility actions. This pilot has been financed by Blockchers, a project from the Horizon2020 framework whereby Alastria is a partner.
- Use Case 2: José Manuel Avelino, Founder & CEO en Vestigia Blockchain Solutions.
- Use Case 3: Miguel Angel Calero Fernández, Co-Founder @ Wealize (formerly TheNeon Project), digital transformation, blockchain, artificial intelligence, digital product development
