In Austria, highest point in the area of "Lower Austria" is Schneeberg mountain.

is a narrow mountain train that climbs from 580m altitude to 1800m altitude in half hour ride (40 minutes with stops). Breathtaking scenery on the way, but even more at the very top. Apart from just being at the top of "Hochschneeberg" taking in the views, there is a restaurant there, built by the Austrian Emperor, as well as a small church built by him for his Empress Elisabeth. Enjoy the ride !
