Kalam (کالام) is a valley located at distance of 99 kilometres (62 mi) from Mingora in the northern upper reaches of Swat valley along the bank of Swat River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.The area has become a popular tourist attraction, known for its mountains, forests and lakes.It is the birthplace of Swat river, which forms with confluence of two major tributaries of Gabral river and Ushu river.
It is a sub-valley of Swat, at an elevation of about 2,000 m (6,600 ft) above sea level, and providing rooms for a small but fertile plateau above the river for farming.[6] From Kalam, the metaled road ends and shingle road leads to the Usho and Utror valleys. From Matiltan, some snow-capped mountains are visible including Mount Falaksar 5,918 meters (19,416 feet), and another unnamed peak 6,096 meters (20,000 feet) high.
Malam Jabba (مالم جبہ) is a Hill Station and ski resort in the Hindu Kush mountain range nearly 40 km from Saidu Sharif in Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It is 314 km from Islamabad and 51 km from Saidu Sharif Airport.
Malam Jabba is home to one of the two ski resorts in Pakistan; the other is at Naltar, Gilgit Baltistan.On the main Madyan-Kalam road, the road turns to the right at Manglor town (12 km from Saidu Sahrif), for the Malam-Jabba Dara which has a series of small villages and settlements like Salanda, Jehanabad, Talegraam, Badar, Ser, Malam, Kishora, Spine Oba, and finally Jabba. Malam is a small village which comes prior to Kishora village on the main Malam-Jabba road. Malam is nearly 17 km from Manglor while Kishora is at 18 km distance. Jabba (12 km from Kishora) is the upper most part of the whole Dara (gorge). The Malam Jabba Ski Resort, owned by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, had a ski slope of about 800m with the highest point of the slope 2804 m (9200 ft) above sea level. Malam Jabba Ski Resort was the joint effort of the Pakistan with its Austrian counterpart. The resort was equipped with modern facilities including roller/ice-skating rinks, chair lifts, skiing platforms, telephones and snow clearing equipment.
مالم جبہ پاکستان میں دو سکی ریزورٹس میں سے ایک ہے۔ دوسرا نیلٹر ، گلگت بلتستان میں ہے۔ مرکزی مدیانہ کالام روڈ پر ، یہ سڑک دائیں طرف موڑ دیتی ہے منگلور شہر (سیدو ساحر سے 12 کلومیٹر) ، مالم جبہ درہ کے لئے جس میں چھوٹے چھوٹے دیہات اور آباد کاریوں کا سلسلہ ہے۔ سالندا ، جہان آباد ، تلیگرام ، بدر ، سیر ، مالم ، کشورہ ، اسپائن اوبا ، اور آخر میں جبہ۔ مالام ایک چھوٹا سا گاؤں ہے جو مرکزی مالم جبہ روڈ پر واقع کشمورہ گاؤں سے پہلے آتا ہے۔ مالم منگلور سے تقریبا 17 کلو میٹر کے فاصلے پر ہے جبکہ کشورا 18 کلومیٹر کی دوری پر ہے۔ جبہ (کشورہ سے 12 کلومیٹر) پورے دارا (گھاٹی) کا اوپری حصہ ہے۔ پاکستان ٹورزم ڈویلپمنٹ کارپوریشن کی ملکیت میں مالم جبہ اسکی ریسارٹ کی سطح 800 کے ارد گرد ہے اور اس کی سطح بلندی 2804 میٹر (9200 فٹ) ہے۔ مالم جبہ اسکی ریسارٹ اپنے آسٹریا کے ہم منصب کے ساتھ پاکستان کی مشترکہ کوشش تھی۔ یہ ریزورٹ جدید سہولیات سے آراستہ تھا جس میں رولر / آئس سکیٹنگ رنکس ، کرسی لفٹیں ، اسکیئنگ پلیٹ فارم ، ٹیلیفون اور برف صاف کرنے والے آلات شامل ہیں۔
