The 15,000-inhabitant city of Kufstein is widely known as the “Pearl of Tyrol” thanks to the Kufstein song from 1947. There it says: “Do you know the pearl, the pearl of Tyrol? You probably know the town of Kufstein! Surrounded by mountains, so peaceful and quiet. Yes, that is Kufstein, there on the green Inn… ”And as idyllic as it was once sung about, Kufstein is still today.
