Attersee is a lake in Austria, in the federal state of Upper Austria. The lake is located in the famous resort region of Salzkammergut, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Attersee is the largest lake in the Salzkammergut and of all the Austrian Alps.
The lake is of glacial origin. The water in Atterse is crystal clear, the transparency is up to 30 meters, a large number of fish are found in the lake.
Lake Attersee is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Austria. The wind regime is favorable for sailing and windsurfing.

The area of the lake is 45.9 km², length - 20 km, width up to 4 km, maximum depth - 171 meters.
