Salzburg, Austria
After Vienna, we rented a car & headed west towards the alps! We didn’t have the best weather during this leg of the trip but we def made the most of it!
highlights:
•a stop for lunch along the way at @dasattersee which was a gorgeous lakeside restaurant with magical views of #LakeAttersee & awesome food
•checked into of our hotel @sheratongrandsalzburg which was just average (but fine) & a good location, right next to Mirabell Palace with its beautiful gardens & unicorn statues
• Salzburg is a gorgeous town surrounded by the alps, its the birthplace of Mozart , the main filming location for “The Sound of Music” , and renowned for its stunning Altstadt, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. so we did tons of walking (or scooting ) shopping (specifically for rain jackets ) & sightseeing, Loved the @jaumeplensaofficial Secret Garden installation in residenzplatz square
•dinners at @ristorantedirenzi & a cool rooftop restaurant @imlauer_skybar_salzburg which were both perfect choices & a lunch at Café Sacher Wienin for some traditional Austrian fare in a very traditional setting of the the @sachersalzburg (est 1876)
•def recommend taking the MÖNCHSBERG lift in old town for great views of the city & especially the castle, Fortress Hohensalzburg
Overall very cool & beautiful city!
