Belonging to the Schengen zone brings many benefits. The freedom to travel without a passport, is a remarkable opportunity for the development of tourism and business. From the 1st of January, the list of Schengen zone members increased. Croatians can now travel freely across Europe and pay in a Euro currency. Croatians' opinion on the entry into the eurozone and the Schengen area is rising mixed feelings. While in general Croatians welcome the abolition of border controls, the change of currency arouses public distrust.
