LEADIN:

A small village in Georgia's Caucasus mountains, has earned a reputation as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

Mestia's pristine ski slopes and rich cultural heritage have secured it a place on the UN World Tourism Organization's Best Tourism villages of 2022.

STORYLINE:

Ski enthusiasts enjoy the slopes of Tetlundi mountain, ovcerlooking Mestia.

Unlike many places where the snow has already melted, here in the Caucasus mountains at an elevation of between 2,200 - 3,100 meters, skiers and snowboarders can indulge in sports activities all year round.

Tetlundi also offers expert skiers a great opportunity to test their abilities on ungroomed terrains.

Many just come here to see the breathtaking landscapes.

But it is not only the ski slopes that Georgia's Svaneti region and its capital Mestia can offer tourists.
