Sofia Bulgaria | Sofia Graffiti Tour | Things to see in Sofia | Travel to Bulgaria
Recently, Sofia has become an open-air art space, thanks to graffiti: they appear here and there on a facade, transform a crumbling wall, turn a building into a futuristic scene with amazing characters, gather the eyes of passers-by and are painted by real artists.
00:00 - Introduction
00:32 - Work of the artist Bozhidar Simeonov – Bozko. The graffiti artist painted the wall of the Sofia Inspectorate next to the National Opera. It took 9 days for the artist to paint this big wall.
01:08 - Known to the Bulgarians as Nasimo, Stanislav Trifonov is recognized as one of the pioneers of Eastern European street art culture, as well as one of the most popular mural painters in the Balkans.
Nasimo started painting in the early 90's. 25 years later, his works adorn countries such as Britain, Germany, Russia, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Poland, India, China and almost all countries in the Balkans, sometimes spreading to the facades of 10-storey buildings.
01:46 - The 200-square-meter Serdica Tulip mural is located near the Sredica metro station on the central Maria-Luisa Boulevard, and its authors are the world-famous artists Arsek & Erase.
The Serdika Tulip project was initiated by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bulgaria. The initiative aims to illustrate in a modern way the friendly relations between Bulgaria and the Netherlands, including various elements specific to both countries.
02:48 - Painted by the artist JahOne and the team of the Visionary Foundation with graffiti, symbolizing the hope of blood cancer patients that innovations in the treatment of this group of diseases can give them new life.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about blood cancer and current opportunities for diagnosis and treatment, as well as to draw public attention to the problems of patients suffering from these diseases.
03:22 - Graffiti created by Rays street in memory of Krastyo Petrov Mirski, Bulgarian drama director and pedagogue, professor at the Higher Institute of Theater Arts.
03:53 - Work of Nasimo. The beautiful graffiti of a Bulgarian girl dressed in a Bulgarian national costume appeared on 55 Sandor Petyofi Street at the end of May 2016. The name of the work is "God's Gift" and it represents Rada, a Bulgarian bride, and the beauty and Bulgarian traditions.
