We start in Switzerland revisiting the Lauterbrunnen area for some more grand hiking through the Swiss Alps. After we went to Lucerne for a few days. Another fabulous city in Switzerland. Then onto Berne where we picked up a car. Our first drive was the fabulous Route Des Vins D' Alsace, (Alsace Wine Route) is one of France's most evocative drives. Vines lining the hillsides and every mile or so there's a storybook village inviting you to stop and raise a glass. We stayed in the marvelous village of Colmar after we drove part of the 170 km route a couple nights after visiting some of the villages along the way. Then we continued up the rest of the route visiting more of the villages such as Eguisheim and Riquewihr. We crossed over into Germany and spent some time in Baden Baden. The next five days were spent in the Black Forest of Germany, a beautiful area of Germany making Staufen our home base at the Southern end. Then headed to Zurich were were spent our last few days. I am not much on big cities but Zurich is one that I fell in love with. I could spend alot of time in Zurich and not feel like I was in "the city". I hope to go back some day and spend a little more time there. Another grand trip.
