Riquewihr, known as one of the most beautiful villages in Europe, becomes an absolutely charming place during Christmas. The medieval village dates back to the 13th century and retains an old, authentic architecture with colorful buildings, exposed wooden houses and cobbled streets. Due to its beauty and fairy tale atmosphere, it is a very popular place among tourists, who come here in large numbers, especially during the Christmas market, from all over the world, exceeding 10 million tourists only during the Christmas period.

The Riquewihr Christmas Market is usually open from the end of November until Christmas Eve on December 24, but the decorations and lights often remain until early January. Visitors can find here traditional handicrafts, Alsatian gourmet products, mulled wine and cakes specific to the region. There are bright lights and decorations in every corner of the village, and the general atmosphere reflects Alsatian traditions, making Riquewihr a highly sought-after destination during this period.

The villages of Alsace become true fairytale destinations during Christmas. Each village decorates its streets and medieval houses with lights, garlands and traditional decorations, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
