The Oasis Eco Resort would be built around a spring in the sun-soaked desert and would be completed by 2020. Holiday getaway plans include crop irrigation, fish farming, recreational activities, and a natural habitat for wildlife. Resort's 84 suites will have stunning views and an outdoor terrace that looks out onto the central spring and dunes. These are the bold plans for what could become the world's greenest holiday resort. The flagship resort - which has been proposed for Iiwa, in the southern region of the United Arab Emirates, would include crop irrigation, fish farming, recreational activities, and a natural habitat for various wildlife. Currently in the early stages, a representative for Baharash Architecture said that the Oasis Eco Resort, which would be built around a spring and located in the sun-soaked desert, is on schedule to be complete by 2020. Those wishing to relax in one of the resorts 84 suites will be treated to stunning views, a fitness centre, and an outdoor terrace that will look out onto the central spring and surrounding dunes. Each building would be extremely low, maximising exposure to these stunning sand dunes, which stretch for miles around. The resort would extract groundwater from a deep well, which would form the base for certain green elements - such as crop irrigation. As well as this water source, the site would also generate energy from the solar panels that would cover every roof. Oasis Eco Resort will also hire a wildlife biologist and conservation staff, who will be tasked with studying and maintaining the native wildlife. The designs were created by Baharash Architecture, who have been tasked by a Dubai-based Eco Resort Group to design the greenest resort in the world. Baharash Baherian, designer and founder of Baharash Architecture, said: 'This is now the most sustainable project we have ever worked on. He said: 'It's significant because uncontrolled conventional tourism causes harm to natural areas, by putting excess pressure on the area which can lead to impacts such as increased pollution, soil erosion, loss of natural habitats and endangered species. 'It puts pressure on water resources, and it can force local populations to compete for the use of critical resources. 'This Oasis Eco Resort will raise awareness of environmental values through educational programmes and experiences. 'The resort will also serve as a tool to protect the natural area and increase its economic importance. 'Ultimately, this Eco Resort is more about an eco-destination that provides cultural, environmental and economic benefits for the region, whilst also enhancing the customer experience.'
