What happened on this street changed history forever, this is where 19 year old Bosnian Serb Gavrilo Princip executed heir to the Austria-Hungarian throne Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie/ Sofia. Exactly a month later the Austro-Hungarian Empire declared war on Serbia which would become the start of WWI.
