Opatija is a small coastal town west of Rijeka that was developed in the 19th century for rich and powerful Austrian and Hungarian nobility. It has beautiful parks, magnificent villas and hotels and a long coastal promenade. Opatija has the longest tradition of tourism in Croatia and managed to preserve its original classy charm and beauty.
