This road trip through Europe will take you through 6 different countries & takes about 2 weeks to complete if you want to move fast ????
I did this Europe roadtrip over the summer & it was so fun! I’m so glad my friends & I decided to drive over fly. It really gives you a better perspective of each country! All of these countries have almost the same driving regulations as the U.S., so it’s not hard at all.
1st stop — I flew in to Munich, Germany just for the day to pick up the rental car. We stopped at the grand square & Residenz Munchen. Both pretty places but I wouldn’t spend more than a few hours here.
2nd stop — Austria!! A beautiful country. We spent the afternoon in Salzburg which was perfect, then 3 days in Hallstatt. Both I would say are the perfect amount of time.
3rd stop — Italy! We went during peak season which I can not recommend less haha it was terrible. But if it was off season I totally recommend it. We only stopped for the day, but I would definitely recommend 3-4 days in Venice & Lake Como combined.
4th stop — Switzerland. An insanely beautiful country & so so expensive ???? We spent 4 days in the Interlaken ate which I think was good timing. We made stops in Lauterbrunnen, Thun, Spiez, Murren, & Grindelwald.
5th stop — Alsace Region, France. We only spent 2 days here & I really think you should spend 3-4. It was INSANE. Looks like a real life Disney movie. We did an E-bike tour through Colmar, Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Ribeauville, & Kayersberg.
6th stop — Amsterdam, Netherlands. I personally think Amsterdam is overrated, but that’s just me ???? I personally wouldn’t spend more than 2 days here. Things I enjoyed here were NDSM, Zaanse Schans, & De Sluyswacht
I went mid July was was good, but honestly a little hot / crowded. If possible I would go during off season so things are cheaper too!
