Vienna Austria:
Vienna, Austria’s capital, lies in the country’s east on the Danube River. Its artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the MuseumsQuartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists.

Vienna is an Austrian city located on the banks of the Danube, in the valley of the Vienna Woods, at the foot of the first foothills of the Alps. It is the federal capital and main city of the country, as well as one of its nine federated states (Bundesland Wien).

Surrounded by the federal state of Lower Austria, Vienna is the most populous city and largest cultural center in Austria, with a population of over 1,900,000 inhabitants (2021) – 2.4 million in its metropolitan area (population similar to the that the city had in 1914). Therefore, it is the second most populous city in Central Europe (after Berlin, although according to some statistics as of 2020 it is third after Berlin and Hamburg) and the sixth city in terms of population in the European Union. It is also the third most populous metropolitan area in Central Europe after Berlin and the Ruhr area. The official language is Standard Austrian German; Viennese German, a Bavarian dialect, is also spoken.

The city has a long history, as it is one of the oldest capitals in Europe, which is why it has an important artistic heritage. During the 18th and 19th centuries, it was one of the great musical capitals of the world, and in the early 20th century it was a mecca of Western philosophy and political debate, as well as one of the world's leading cultural centers.
