Vienna (or 'Wien' for the natives) is the capital city of Austria and one of the major centres of European history. Full of beautiful architecture and a variety of activities, it's great for exploring on foot - especially when you happen to come across a music festival with lots of delicious foods as I did! From the infamous "Hundertwasserhaus" to the magnificent Hofburg Palace, the city boasts an abundance of arts and culture events around every corner. It was home to classical composers Mozart and Strauss, the former seat of the Habsburg dynasty and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site - which is no surprise when you see old and new interspersed wherever you go. And don't forget to have a taste of the delicious "Sachertorte" at Hotel Sacher if you get the chance.
