Today we explore the beautiful lakeside town of St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut on Wolfgangsee. We couldn't believe how good the view was from our guesthouse. We had a traditional Austrian dinner and then the next day took the ferry across the Lake to the town of St. Gilgen. From St. Gilgen you can get on a bus which takes you to the city of Salzburg within 45 mintues. Salzburg is really something else! The old city and the new city are separated by the Salzach river. We were staying in the old area of the city at the Elefant hotel.
One of the bridges that goes across the Salzach River is called Makartsteg and on this bridge you can find a number of padlocks who have had their keys thrown into the river. Many couples, including me and Sai do this, to forever cement their love for each other.
Before we went to the train station to go back to Vienna we decided to explore Fortress Hohensalzburg, which is almost 1000 years old! It has a lot of interesting history and also offers great views of the city from down below. Salzburg is an awesome city and is an absolute must visit for any trip to Austria.
We hope you enjoy the video, let us know what your favorite place that we've visited in Austria thus far in the comments down below!
