Hello everyone, today you will join me on my walk along Burggasse in Vienna's 7th district called "Neubau".
Burggasse stretches all the way from the Gürtel (Vienna Belt Road: https://youtu.be/Jsim_DCLw7E) to Zweierlinie (https://youtu.be/xF3yLs5Io4s) and is a major traffic artery connecting the outer districts to the City Centre.
Although it is one of the oldest streets of Neubau, Burggasse ended at Kaiserstrasse up until 1885. Only when the Linienwall, an outer fortification for the city of Vienna between its suburbs and outlying villages, was demolished, it connected to today's Gürtel.
There are very little open spaces along Burggasse, in exchange you can enjoy countless old and historic buildings with the highlight being the start of Burggasse, right next to Museumsquartier and the Natural, as well as the Art History Museum of Vienna.
If you walk all the way to Gürtel (as you can tell I walked in the opposite direction) you find yourself in front of Lugner City, one of Vienna's biggest and probably Vienna's most notorious mall.
Despite its reputation, you will find many delicacies (not during Covid Times though), numerous shops and also a cinema in there.
I hope you enjoyed today's walk and will tune in again next Sunday for my next video :)
Feel free to like and subscribe and click the bell icon to not miss out on future videos, it really helps out a lot, thank you!
