Day 82 of our world travel sabbatical
We spent 8 days in Austria as country 8 of our world travel sabbatical. Budget breakdown below ⬇️
???? FOLLOW @minjunandkevin for more travel sabbatical adventures and transparent country budgets!
We budgeted our costs across these categories:
✈️ Transportation (Uber to escape train debacle, trains, subway, tram, buses)
???? Lodging (Airbnb)
???? Food (????????????)
???? Activities (Upper Belvedere)
???? Other (health insurance, e-SIM, bathroom)
Our daily budget we’re trying to stick to is $250/day as full-time travelers and we spent:
Country total = $1,639.64
Daily average = $204.95
Total running daily average = $238.47
In Chinese culture, 8 is supposed to be a lucky number but Austria was both lucky and unlucky for us. Cue train debacle ????
We went to the two largest cities in Austria - Vienna and Graz. Vienna is the capital, and definitely pricey but surprisingly Graz as the second largest city was pricier than Vienna in some areas while feeling like a small town. Did you know Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s mom‘s house is there?
At $205, we’re under our $250 daily budget for Austria, keeping us below our running total ????
Country 9 continues our Eastern Europe segment, so maybe we’ll be able to continue saving more ????
Follow along to see how we do there! We’re Minjun and Kevin and next stop, country 9: Slovenia ????????
