We spend the last weekend in beautiful in Tyrol. We stayed at the very recommendable Tannenhof (http://www.tannenhof.cc/) in Hinterbichl next to Reutte and Wängle in Austria near the German border. We drove there with Sandy’s car which enabled us more flexibility. Due to traffic jam on Friday afternoon we run late but fortunately we still had time to shop for groceries. We had delicious dinner, it felt like cooking for a school class. We had potatoes with veggies and salad with apple dressing.
On Saturday we started the day with delish breakfast (Oats), meal prep (Italian Pasta Salad) and some of us including me did Yoga. We headed for the Gehrenalpe and kind of got lost but we made it and had a beautiful view from up there in 1610 meters. Afterwards we hiked to the Lechaschauer Alm in 1670 meters and were able to swing. After deciding that we wanted to go to a summit cross we hiked up there near the Hahnenkamm in 1808 meters height. The view from up there and on the whole way was so spectacular and was worth all the pain in the legs which did not last very long. We did not take the cable car down but walked and it took almost 2 hours and it seemed like that was the most exhausting part. After finally arriving at out lovely hotel we had delicious dinner including potatoes with dal with avo salsa and salad and talked and finally slept so well.
On Sunday we drove home. But we stopped at the beautiful Plansee which is still in Austria and also at the wonderful Schloss Linderhof in Germany. It is the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed and it is really cute. We did not go in there as there were too many people but it is free to enjoy the beautiful park a horticultural masterpiece.
