Police searched a luxury hotel in the Saxon town of Leipzig, after a telephone call warning of an attack was received at 2:50 am on Tuesday.
The police thoroughly searched the closed off area and the Hotel Furstenhof. They deployed over a hundred special police force officers and a helicopter.
However they concluded their search after discovering that the call was made by a group of teenagers from Austria, who tweeted that the call was a "joke." Some officers remained to ensure the area was secure.
