This video shows the other part of landscape photography. We get up well before sunrise, hike to our locations and hope for some magic light. But most of the time all this effort doesn't lead to the photos we envision. More often than not the weather crosses our plans or something else goes wrong.

A few weeks ago I tried to photograph sunrise from the Falschkogel Mountain in the Austrian Alps. But as I ascended to the Steinjöchle it began to rain and getting to the summit was too risky. I nearly ended up taking no photo at all that morning, but on the drive back to the hotel I got lucky.
