Ruptly is live from Berlin as German Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, together with the president of Germany’s public health agency Lothar Wieler and Institute of Virology director Christina Drosten, hold a joint press conference in Berlin on Monday, March 2, to address the latest developments regarding COVID-19 in Germany.

On Sunday, the Robert Koch Institute for disease control confirmed the jump in COVID-19 cases from 66 to 117.

Germany has been undertaking stronger measures to control the spreading of coronavirus. A crisis committee created by the government has introduced stricter travel guidelines and major international events such as the 2020 ITB Berlin have been cancelled.
