The Asian Development Bank is forecasting that, in the worst case, the COVID-19 outbreak will cost the South Korean economy up to 1 percentage point in GDP growth this year... and up to 360-thousand jobs.
That's according to a report published Sunday, which calculated the potential loss to growth at more than 16-and-a-half billion dollars.
The biggest blow, it said, percentage-wise,... would be to the transportation industry, where growth would take a hit of 2-point-4 percent.
That was followed closely by the hotel and restaurant sector... where a drop of 2-point-1 percent... would mean, in absolute terms, a decline of more than 2-and-a-half billion dollars.
