My first time ever filming a Schindler Smart MRL elevator, which is pretty much rare nowadays. Smart MRL was Schindler's MRL elevator model designed for low-rise residential and commercial buildings and was mainly sold in Europe, although it was also sold in Australia and New Zealand, Japan (marketed as Smart J) and Latin America (made by Atlas Schindler in Brazil), but not sold in Asia. It features a unique and unusual numerical button layout which is considered useless for the amount of floors it serves; there are only 7 floors in here! It would've made more sense if the buttons were fitted in a mid or high-rise elevator with many floors instead. These buttons are also known to be confusing to some people as they often don't know how to select their floor especially if they are very used to elevators with conventional button layout. The minus (-) button is for selecting the basement floor but since this building doesn't have a basement it doesn't do anything apart from showing "Er" on the display, so it's pretty much useless anyway. And if you select a floor that doesn't exist the display will show "Er" (error). Despite its unusual feature, this is still a very nice and unique elevator.
This is the Smart MRL 001 series btw, which is basically the more basic version of the Schindler Smart series. Normally the lighting inside the car is on the top of the car station, but here it is on the ceiling. It is possible that the light was fitted to the ceiling later on, probably because the light on the panel wasn't enough to light up the car.
