Austria’s slogan is Arrive and revive. We might add to that Fun, friendly and fabulous surroundings. Heading to the tirol region of Austria is where you can discover it all and more.

A half hour drive from Innsbruck is the village of Neustiff and the 5-star Relais & Chateaux Spa-Hotel Jagdhof. This is luxury in the Stubai valley surrounded by dramatic Austrian alps and a multitude of ski areas. With 70 rooms and suites, the Jagdhof not only has excellent food and entertainment, it also has a 3,000 meter Jspa, the award-winning, top rated spa in Austria.

One of the most unique dining venues at the Jagdhof is is the Fondue Cable Car. It is an actual cable car situated on the hotel gardens that has been transformed into a wood-lined cozy 6-person private dining room where fondue is featured and fun is inevitable.

15 minutes from the hotel are two gondola lifts to the Stubai glacier. They quickly whisk skiers to the top and a third gondola lift is currently under construction. Daily lift passes cost about $44 and skiing is possible from October to June.

The Stubai Glacier ski area is home to the largest high glacier skiing area in Austria. There is spectacular downhill skiing (both on and off-piste) challenging freeride trails as well as a freestyle snowpark, 72km of cross-country trails, 80km of winter hiking and 12 natural toboggan runs.

One can ski from 3,225 meters on the Wilde Grub’n trail … over 10 kms ... one of the longest runs in the alps.

On the glacier is the Michelin-rated, gourmet restaurant Schaufelspitz. With creative food, great wines and amazing Austrian-inspired desserts, the restaurant’s food compliments the stunning Alpine peaks which grace the views.

It is a great place to take a break between runs and relive those memorable turns on the piste.

The Stubai Glacier and the Jagdhof Spa Hotel are two giant gems in the Austrian crown of great travel destinations.
