Taiwan has confirmed eight more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 108. Seven of the new patients were likely infected overseas. These patients had traveled recently to countries including Egypt, France, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, and the U.S.The only local transmission was Patient #103, a high-school student in Northern Taiwan. He is believed to have contracted the virus from his classmate, who was diagnosed with the coronavirus last week. Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, health minister Chen Shih-chung said that imported cases still outnumbered local infections, meaning that there was no need to panic over the risk of community transmission.
